This study looks into how English develops the color construal. In any language a conceptual reference point is necessary to assign a color to a color category. Color recognition is established through the observation of comparative similarity and difference with this reference point, which is elaborated through simultaneity and co-occurrence with the surround. Individuals experience color identification as good or bad. Color allows us to identify an object –the light or the substance– and therefore decide if the given color object association is right or wrong, positive or negative. Color duly represents a cognitive focus in language, which in turn triggers an association depending on the context. This happens through the parallel processing of the color signal and symbol in its surround. There are some aspects that are language specific or relative, and others that appear to be universal.
