Abstract

A novel quasi-optical frequency doubler is proposed. It is based on a crossed dipole structure and uses a four diode bridge to form a fully-balanced configuration. The directivity of the dipole antenna can be increased by adding parasitic elements similar to the Yagi-Uda approach. An array composed by four crossed-dipole elements is also considered. Layout and promising measured and simulated results are presented.
