The study aimed to evaluate the effects of epidural sufentanil vs morphine on non-invasive blood pressure, heart rate and respiratory rate on isoflurane requirements and quality of post-operative analgesia in 12 dogs undergoing tibia, plateau leveling osteotomy. In the post-operative period a cumulative Pain Scale was scored hourly by the same anaesthetist, until 6h post-surgery. Epidural sufentanil produced isoflurane sparing effect and quicker recovery compared to morphine together with good level of analgesia in the post-operative period.
