The study aimed to evaluate the quality of sedation (QS), induction (QI) and recovery (QR) as well as cardiorespiratory effects of dexmedetomidine during sufentanil-isoflurane anaesthesia for tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO) in dogs. Twelve mixed breed dogs were randomly divided into 2 groups: DexSI (Dexmedetomidine/Sufentanil/Isoflurane) and SI (Sufentanil/Isoflurane). DexSI group resulted in a better QS, QI and QR and required a significantly lower dose of propofol for induction and sufentanil CRI for maintenance compared to SI during TPLO in dogs.
