Frequency domain models require a reduced computational burden with respect to time domain models. The difference is noticeable for complex systems. The integration of the governing equations in frequency domain requires a linearization about an operating point of the friction term for turbulent flows. A correction factor is introduced to change the operating point and the improvement in terms of equivalence with the time domain models is investigated.
