The morphological-sedimentary approach in the study of streams: fluvial dynamics, erosion processes, riverbed dynamics risk and hydraulic risk. – The "River" is a complex system. The morphological-sedimentary approach is essential, like the hydrological-hydraulic one, for the study of the processes that act in the system itself and to understand its evolutionary tendency. The knowledge of these processes, which is obtained through the analysis and description of the morphological-sedimentary characteristics (channel, banks, sedimentary bodies, bottom shapes, granulometries, confluences, works in the riverbed, activities that directly and indirectly influence the fluvial dynamics) is necessary in order to correctly manage the system. The study takes place at different spatial-temporal scales, of which the large scale is the most suitable for understanding the risk situations due to the riverbed dynamics, closely related to the hydraulic risk.
