Memoria e futuro. Considerazioni su alcuni archivi familiari umbri La rassegna presenta in maniera problematica e attraverso alcuni casi significativi la situazione degli archivi familiari in Umbria, una regione particolarmente ricca di raccolte (depositate sia presso Archivi statali o comunali sia presso privati), significative per estensione cronologica (dal medioevo all’età contemporanea nel caso, per esempio, dei Campello) e per il costante riferimento al centro politico dello Stato (Baldeschi, Bufalini, Pianciani, Spada). Al Settecento e al tardo Ottocento si deve la svolta formale nell’organizzazione dei medesimi e, di fatto, nell’archiviazione delle carte (archivi Ansidei Manzoni e Oddi Baglioni). Si accenna anche alla questione (Della Penna, Ansidei Manzoni o Pianciani) che le raccolte non siano soltanto fatte di carte ma anche di libri, che diventano a loro volta un archivio e una testimonianza degli interessi culturali e della loro continuità. Considerations over some Family Archives in Umbria The present article offers an overview – through some significant examples – of the state of Family Archives in Umbria, a region which is rich in collections (both kept in State and Municipal as well as in private archives). These collections appear to be remarkable thanks to their chronological range (from Medieval time up to Contemporary age, as is the case for the Campello Collection) and to their constant references to the political centre of the State (Baldeschi, Bufalini, Pianciani, Spada). These archives were formally re-arranged during the eighteenth and late nineteenth century and the documents began to be archived during the same time (Ansidei Manzoni and Oddi Baglioni Archives). The article marginally tackles the issue (Della Penna, Ansidei Manzoni or Pianciani) that collections were not only made up of untied documents but also of entire books, the latter representing a wide and important part of the archive itself as well as significant evidence of the presence of cultural interests while being a tangible sign of the history of the collections themselves.
