Abstract

Leucinostatin A is a linear natural nonapeptide very active against gram-positive bacteria, yeast and fungi, but the clinical use is limited by its high toxicity. Recently, we reported Leu-A liposome formulation with the aims to lower the toxicity and to study peptide-membrane interactions. However, liposomes present disadvantages related to their in vivo instability. For this reason poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) nanoparticles were taken into account as alternative carriers for Leu-A delivering.
