The aim of the study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of pre-operative gonadothropin hormone releasing analogues (two dose by 11,25 mg) in association with estro-progestins in the treatment of 40 patients with uterine fibroma. Twenty-two underwent to hysterectomy or myomectomy. Twelve patients were submitted at laparotomic myomectomy. Twelve patients were submitted at laparotomic myomectomy, 10 patients at laparoscopic myomectomy, 2 patients at vaginal histerectomy and 8 patients at histeroscopic myomectomy. The association with estro-progestins improved the vascular compliance (hot flushes) and did not change emocoagulative and lipid concentrations. The Authors conclude that the GnRH association with estroprogestins reduce the number of patients with uterine fibroma that undergo at surgical intervention and reduce the volume of myomas.
