Equations for estimating organic matter and energy digestibility of pelleted complet diets containing alfalfa hay and by-products for growing lambs – to estimate gross energy (dE) and organic matter (dOM) digestibility of pelleted diets (40% concentrate – 60% forages) multiple regressions equations were computed using as independent variables the chemical composition (as % on OM basis) of 9 diets and the results of 9 in vivo digestibility trials, using the acid insoluble ash method. The best equations were: dOM (as%) = -37.96 + 3.68 NDF – 0.00039 NDF3 – 0.0271 Cellulose2 – 2.219 ADL (R2=97.85 RSD=0.49) dE (as%) = 35.41 + 0.008 dOM2 – 0.9104 ADL + 0.004254 ADL3 (R2=99.84 RSD=0.13)
