Thin layer chromatography of cultures filtrates of Paecimyces marquandii has shown that Leucinostatin A 1, the main antibiotic, cytotoxic, phytotoxic compound produced by this phytopathogenic microorganism, is accompanied by a series of co-metabolites, the major one being Leucinostatin B which was proved to be the mono-N-desmethyl-leucinostatin A 2: both structures have been demonstrated by Japanese authors and independently confirmed by us.

Abstract

Thin layer chromatography of cultures filtrates of Paecimyces marquandii has shown that Leucinostatin A 1, the main antibiotic, cytotoxic, phytotoxic compound produced by this phytopathogenic microorganism, is accompanied by a series of co-metabolites, the major one being Leucinostatin B which was proved to be the mono-N-desmethyl-leucinostatin A 2: both structures have been demonstrated by Japanese authors and independently confirmed by us.
