In this study, the effect on the estimation of run length distribution characteristics due to sampling error in estimating truncation level probability in analytically studied. The analytical results are then comparated with the simulation studies. For illustrative example, the yearly flows of river Alima at Okoyo (1952 - 1980) Congo basin, have been used the verify the proposed methodology.
