Abstract
"When we started to plan the PARIS COURSE ON REVASCULARIZATION 2000, we decided to change the characteristics of the book traditionally accompanying the course, having in mind the main goal of the PCR: continuous educational teaching, introducing cardiologists into new fields which cross the traditional frontiers of his own speciality and give him the possibility to share the evolving multidisciplinary conception of cardio-vascular recanalizations. The results of our efforts and the efforts of the colleagues contributing to the realization of this book may not be perfect. It has to be considered as a first, important step for the development of a real practical guide particularly for cardiologists widening their activity to the challenging peripheral field. This new horizon extrapolates the limits of our daily practice taking care of patients with diffuse obstructive atherosclerotic disease. Prerequsites of such extended activites are, however an optimal theoretical preparation and extensive practical training. This book is a tentative step to partially transmit the experience of opinion leaders into the daily approach of interventional problems." This book has 448 pages and is profusely illustrated.
