Abstract
Artemidorus calculates the lenght of the inhabited world from India to Iberia only through itineraries. This is the great difference between his hodological representation of space and Eratosthenes’ map. The empirical geography of Artemidorus is comparable to Polybius’ chorography and was well accepted in the Roman world, as the geographical chapters of the Naturalis Historia show.File in questo prodotto:
