Sixty years have passed since the first publication of Viaggio in Italia, the reportage where Guido Piovene portrayed in incomparable way the Italy after World War II, a mainly agricultural country at that time and linked to tradition, but already characterized by rapid industrialization and tumultuous urban and infrastructural growth. The Author points out the relevance and the utility, from the multidisciplinary point of view too, of the issues faced by Piovene and encourages a rereading of his work.
