The essay starts with a comparison between the different reconstructions of the Bartolo’s readings in Pisa and Perugia and it aims to address the years of Bartolo’s teaching in Perugia. To this end, the Bartolo’s teaching is contextualized in the teaching of law in the Perugian Studium. In particular, teachers and teachings are analysed, while issues concerning the juridical doctrine are not addressed. Consequently, the contribution and legacy of Bartolo on the doctrinal level are not evaluated. In terms of teaching planning, the screening of local sources shows that the Bartolian experience left no tangible signs; the choice of the ius civile readings given in the Perugian Studium seems to follow a precise and orderly pattern, from the period preceding the Bartolo’s arrival until the Sixties of the 14th Century. Following, there are not immediately understandable variations, probably caused by the political instability of the city, from which the Studio depended completely.
