Corruption is an issue that strictly affects the functioning of one specific market, that of public contracts, and the implications of which are relevant for the whole development of economic systems, its treatment requires the inclusion of an eco- nomic perspective, and the economics of regulation, with an analysis of the evolution of the rules that, in the European reality, have tried and continue to try to determine a careful balance between efficiency, competititiveness and anti- corruption in public procurement.
