The fourth issue of DAr aims at investigating design as an outcome and simultaneously as a method of addressing and reading reality, intended as an “open book” to dis- cover and interpret. Therefore, design rep- resents not only the goal but also the main architect’s learning tool, whose pedagogical value is attributed to the so-called “learning by doing” concept, which was theorised, among others, by the American philosopher John Dewey.
