This paper intends to show the relationship between pedagogy and civic education especially on the relationship between law and school. This analysis intends to propose a bibliographic reconstruction of the situation of Italian studies that read pedagogy in the light of the developments of the concept of civilization. Starting from Aldo Capitini’s civic lessons of 1965-1966, it is possible to reconstruct a pedagogical-educational path of great civic interest; the aim is to educate young people in a complex society that needs their contribution. With the words of the President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella, an attempt is made to encourage a productive civic growth of students at all levels in order to build a participating social community. The current problems of digital citizenship, education to difference and the relationship between school, territory and families are fundamental for understanding the contemporary world. The fruitful dialogue with the Italian Constitution is an opportunity for ethical and political growth for young students (as Franco Cambi recalls in his studies). The culture of respect, together with a new language structure characterized by respect and good practices, represents a necessary educational step to pass from students to aware citizens. The aim of the paper is to focus the problem on the need to train young people (from schools and universities) in an ethical and competent sense to ensure a functional future for the public community.
