Diversity & Inclusion is the subject of this work. It is an increasingly discussed and relevant topic in both the academic and professional fields. Starting from an analysis of the concept of diversity in a broad sense through some of its historical and current manifestations, the work focuses on a specific D&I aspect connected to gender gap for not diluting too much the analysis. It represents, therefore, a starting point for subsequent publications on the remaining areas. The work aims to investigate the traits and characteristics of D&I within the firms by using an interdisciplinary approach. The authors followed this methodology to enhance the multiple variables and dynamics that determine the system in which D&I is manifested. Today, infact, firms play a decisive and irreplaceable role in social and economic development. Therefore, they are required to pay ever greater attention to issues of such major importance as D&I. Differently from the reference literature, a real model is therefore proposed in this work for understanding the added value brought to the company by diversity. This model is able to support the company development strategy and its sustainable management. And again, it is a model which - although attention has been mainly focused on gender equality - remains useful and valid for all diversity categories that are included within the firms.
Oggetto di questo lavoro è la Diversity & Inclusion. Trattasi di un tema sempre più discusso e rilevante sia in ambito accademico che professionale. Partendo da un'analisi del concetto di diversità in senso lato attraverso alcune delle sue manifestazioni storiche e attuali, il lavoro si concentra su uno specifico aspetto D&I connesso al gender gap per non diluire troppo l'analisi. Questo lavoro rappresenta, quindi, un punto di partenza per successive analisi sui restanti ambiti. Il lavoro si propone di indagare i tratti e le caratteristiche della D&I all'interno delle aziende utilizzando un approccio interdisciplinare. Gli autori hanno seguito questa metodologia per valorizzare le molteplici variabili e dinamiche che determinano il sistema in cui si manifesta la D&I. Oggi, infatti, le aziende svolgono un ruolo decisivo e insostituibile nello sviluppo sociale ed economico. Pertanto, sono tenute a prestare sempre maggiore attenzione a temi di così grande importanza come la D&I. Diversamente dalla letteratura di riferimento, in questo lavoro viene quindi proposto un vero e proprio modello per comprendere il valore aggiunto apportato all'azienda dalla diversità. Tale modello è in grado di supportare la strategia di sviluppo aziendale e la sua gestione sostenibile. E ancora una volta si tratta di un modello che, nonostante l'attenzione sia stata focalizzata principalmente sulla parità di genere, resta utile e valido per tutte le categorie di diversità presenti all'interno delle aziende.
