This paper aims to examine the European gas market in light of the current geopolitical landscape, with a specific focus on the Russia-Ukraine conflict effects. Using Istat experimental statistics TERRA, we will explore the intricate network of gas exchanges, identifying emerging trends and potential alternative networks that can ensure a stable gas supply for the European Union (EU). More in detail, our study will investigate the dynamics of import and export flows, employing time series and network analysis to explore changes in trade patterns, prices, and distribution that arise from geopolitical disruptions. Through this analysis, we aim to gain a comprehensive understanding of the broader implications for international trade in the natural gas market.

Abstract
This paper aims to examine the European gas market in light of the current geopolitical landscape, with a specific focus on the Russia-Ukraine conflict effects. Using Istat experimental statistics TERRA, we will explore the intricate network of gas exchanges, identifying emerging trends and potential alternative networks that can ensure a stable gas supply for the European Union (EU). More in detail, our study will investigate the dynamics of import and export flows, employing time series and network analysis to explore changes in trade patterns, prices, and distribution that arise from geopolitical disruptions. Through this analysis, we aim to gain a comprehensive understanding of the broader implications for international trade in the natural gas market.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
