This paper explores the ethical implications inherent in the concepts of “sign” and “symbol” within the intellectual framework of Tzvetan Todorov. Focusing primarily on his works from the 1970s and 1980s, the analysis adopts an interpretative approach that identifies a coherent trajectory in Todorov’s thought—from his early writings to his mature works—grounded in a persistent engagement with the relational dimension. The contribution aims to shed light on how semiotic reflection intersects with ethical concerns in Todorov’s broader philosophical project.

Abstract
This paper explores the ethical implications inherent in the concepts of “sign” and “symbol” within the intellectual framework of Tzvetan Todorov. Focusing primarily on his works from the 1970s and 1980s, the analysis adopts an interpretative approach that identifies a coherent trajectory in Todorov’s thought—from his early writings to his mature works—grounded in a persistent engagement with the relational dimension. The contribution aims to shed light on how semiotic reflection intersects with ethical concerns in Todorov’s broader philosophical project.File in questo prodotto:
