Emotional geography is a new discipline, both philosophical and geographical, representing an entirely new way to convey not only information on studied places, but also the sensations and suggestions that they inspire. The narration of the environmental context does not only concern the geological and geomorphic aspects but also the emotions they arouse in the observer. Furthermore, they constitute a set of knowledge that can be transmitted and gained through non-traditional ways, such as arts, music and local traditions. The complex geological events of the territory have created a great lithological variety and allowed the evolution and the shaping of past and recent landscapes, which are spectacular from a scientific point of view. Here, Earth’s history and humankind’s are interwoven, with unexpected contributions of artists, painters, sculptors, poets and musicians. The technical and scientific knowledge of the territory can thus be transmitted with a scientific language which is, at the same time, culturally accessible and shareable, through tangible and intangible traditional and non-traditional ways. However, the geological substratum remains the main and most scenically significant element in the landscape architecture and suggestion.
