In this work, we introduce a model of cell communication scenario in blood vessels. This model has been used to simulate the signaling between platelets and endothelial cells in case of injury or atherothrombotic diseases in blood vessels. The used simulation tool is an evolution of the the BiNS Java simulator, and implements a number of new features needed to model the cellular types involved in this scenario and the specific environmental properties. This work contributes to the design of communication systems of nanonetworks with application to the medicine, and in particular in the area of prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

Abstract
In this work, we introduce a model of cell communication scenario in blood vessels. This model has been used to simulate the signaling between platelets and endothelial cells in case of injury or atherothrombotic diseases in blood vessels. The used simulation tool is an evolution of the the BiNS Java simulator, and implements a number of new features needed to model the cellular types involved in this scenario and the specific environmental properties. This work contributes to the design of communication systems of nanonetworks with application to the medicine, and in particular in the area of prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
