Matrimonial contentions in Perugia in the XVII and XVIII centuries This publication offers a meaningful insight into the characteristics and modalities of the dissolutions of marriage that took place in the Diocese of Perugia between the XVII and the XVIII century. The first marital case dates back to 1631 and the last one to 1744. There were two ways of ending the wedding: separation and annulment of marriage. The latter was the most arduous one and it was undertaken just by an exiguous minority of people. The other marital cases detected at the Diocesan Archive of Perugia concern separation applications.
