This paper focuses on the ancient literary sources regarding to the Etruscan music. Aeschylus, Sophocles and Euripides mention the Tyrrhenian salpinx as though she was well known to the public that attended the theatrical performances. The literary sources attest the importance of music in every aspect of private and social existence of the Etruscans.
