Notwithstanding the poor frequency of such intoxications, the aim of this paper is to aware the veterinarians about the possibility that animals can get poisoned from those substances, as long as to report information regarding the ethiology and the toxicocinetics characteristics of those toxicants, their mode of action, the related symptoms and the appropriated therapy.

Abstract
The use by human species of illicit drugs (such as marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines), of alcoholics drinks and of nicotine containing products (cigarettes, cigars, tobacco, chewing gum, etc.), allows domestic animals (mainly dogs) to intake those substances, frequently presents in the houses in quantities more or less abundant relating to the “vice” of the owners. Notwithstanding the poor frequency of such intoxications, the aim of this paper is to aware the veterinarians about the possibility that animals can get poisoned from those substances, as long as to report information regarding the ethiology and the toxicocinetics characteristics of those toxicants, their mode of action, the related symptoms and the appropriated therapy.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
