Cyperanes, eremophilanes and spirovetivanes have been prepared by acid catalyzed rearrangement of 3-keto-4,5-epoxy-eudesmanes. These transformations are of biogenetic significance and reinforce the hypothesis that the oxygenate eudesmanes are precursors of several sesquiterpene skeletons.
