The results of an experimental campaign on wooden structural elements reinforced with FRP in natural fibers of basalt and flax are presented. At first a study regarding the composite materials was made. Tension tests and pool-out tests were performed on specimens made up of different types of fibers. In the second phase different types of timber beams of various sizes were prepared applying natural fiber reinforcements and were then subjected to bending tests on four points. The results were compared with the ones obtained by tests on unreinforced beams or reinforced with glass or carbon fiber and they were satisfactory in terms of increment of strength.

Abstract
The results of an experimental campaign on wooden structural elements reinforced with FRP in natural fibers of basalt and flax are presented. At first a study regarding the composite materials was made. Tension tests and pool-out tests were performed on specimens made up of different types of fibers. In the second phase different types of timber beams of various sizes were prepared applying natural fiber reinforcements and were then subjected to bending tests on four points. The results were compared with the ones obtained by tests on unreinforced beams or reinforced with glass or carbon fiber and they were satisfactory in terms of increment of strength.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
