The aim of this paper is to present a new approach to the surgical dislocation of the stifle joint in the cat based on the use of an external fixator and compare it with other techniques described in the bibliography. The surgical procedure performed on three cats suffering from traumatic dislocation, has provided the use of an external fixator, removed after 40 days, which has proved easy to use, well tolerated by the animals and that has provided a good functional outcome.
