The current crisis differs from other crises by its scale, affecting at present a large number of countries. If, until now, only the developing countries were affected, in the current crisis the most developed countries of the world were involved. The crisis is a collection of various failures, but their interdependence illustrates the economical and financial degree of globalization existing in our human society. Therefore, one of the reasons for reaching saturation of global growth is credit and consumption. Starting from these considerations, the present paper is the result of a research conducted in two regions of Italy and of Romania in August 2012-September 2012 period. The main objective is the comparative analysis of consumers' behaviour in Italy and Romania regarding economic and financial crisis in order to identify measures and policies to overcome the crisis.
