The CLASS project is designed to cover the major fields related to the environmental sustainability within an initial time frame of 1 to 3 years. Activities within this period will be dedicated to five Project Goals (PGs) articulated in the following 5 action areas: Information Technology Services, Advisory Services, Research and Innovation, Communication, Education and Training. Development of a central database for the results of environmental footprint evaluations of products (Carbon and Water Footprint) performed by/in collaboration with public or private entities (PG1). Support for the certification process of Carbon and Water Footprints from third-party entities. The goal is to produce guidelines, provide support, and elaborate methodologies to make uniform and easy to interpret the process of environmental evaluations and certifications (PG2). Research on innovative methodologies for the evaluation of the impact from human activities (e.g. Carbon Footprint, Water Footprint, Noise Footprint, health, history and culture, territory, etc.) and evaluation of innovative mitigation technologies (PG3). Dissemination of the results from environmental, social, and economic footprint analyses performed on the national territory (PG4). Education and training activities on the topics of carbon, water and social footprints. Specific courses will be programmed for different categories of stakeholders (PG5). Definition of a 5-year plan for the activities of the CLASS Cluster (PG6). The know-how and the tools developed during the project in the pursue of the PGs, will also be exploited for additional activities within the five action areas.
