In the present paper, the thermal behaviour of photovoltaic panels subjected to the solar radiation in working conditions was investigated. The strain and stress state of four different photovoltaic modules was evaluated by means of laboratory and outdoor measurements. The starin measurements were carried out employing electrical rosette rectangular strain gauges. In the laboratory measurements the influence of the strain gauge thermal expansion was evaluated; in the outdoor measurements, the real deformations of the two sides of each panel were measured: the side subjected to direct solar radiation and the other in the shade. So the constraint and stress state of the four samples was evaluated; the stress values were compared with the allowable stress for the different materials, in order to verify the breaking strength of the sample.

Abstract
In the present paper, the thermal behaviour of photovoltaic panels subjected to the solar radiation in working conditions was investigated. The strain and stress state of four different photovoltaic modules was evaluated by means of laboratory and outdoor measurements. The starin measurements were carried out employing electrical rosette rectangular strain gauges. In the laboratory measurements the influence of the strain gauge thermal expansion was evaluated; in the outdoor measurements, the real deformations of the two sides of each panel were measured: the side subjected to direct solar radiation and the other in the shade. So the constraint and stress state of the four samples was evaluated; the stress values were compared with the allowable stress for the different materials, in order to verify the breaking strength of the sample.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
