The paper concerns the theme of the exile in the epigrammatic anthology assigned to Seneca and transmitted by the cod. Voss. Lat. Q. 86. It dwells on metaphors of exile like death and on the description of the Seneca's exile island Corsica. It goes through the series called Laus Caesaris about the conquest of the Britannia by the Emperor Claudius, in order to show how Britannia, land of triumph, as a boundary has some aspects in common with the Corsica, island of exile and death. The problem of the autorship of these epigrams is also considered.
