In my intervention at the conclusive Conference of the PRIN Project Musisque deoque, which took place in Venice in June 2010, I stressed that some glosses within the tradition upstream the Salmasian codex (Par. Lat. 10318) were interpolated in the text, thus creating corruptions deemed irreparable by editors. On that occasion, I dealt with vv. 134 and 145 of the centonarian Alcestis. It is now my intention to resume the examen of the v. 145 to corroborate the validity of the conjectural amendment I previously proposed for that verse, by means of external elements (of intertextual nature). Starting from these assumptions, I intend to consider the problems of text constitution raised by the entire epilogue of the cento, dedicated to the extreme sacrifice of 'the best of all women', sticking to the ecdotic criterion of the well-tried binomial of 'imitation and textual criticism'.

Abstract
Starting from these assumptions, I intend to consider the problems of text constitution raised by the entire epilogue of the cento, dedicated to the extreme sacrifice of 'the best of all women', sticking to the ecdotic criterion of the well-tried binomial of 'imitation and textual criticism'.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
