The bed-load transport phenomenon is a complex and primarily important theme in the study of morphological evolution of fluvial networks. This research-line involves a lot of themes and, at any way, is the sum of them all because the bed-load transport is the principal responsible of past, actual and future river configuration, expecially for the gravel-bedded ones. The aim of this study is to evaluate the state of the art and the results of sperimental experiences conduced by D.I.C.A. (University of Perugia) from 80’s to today on the Virginio Stream (Montespertoli, FI). Modern advances in techniques are considered and new research-lines are designed.

Abstract
The bed-load transport phenomenon is a complex and primarily important theme in the study of morphological evolution of fluvial networks. This research-line involves a lot of themes and, at any way, is the sum of them all because the bed-load transport is the principal responsible of past, actual and future river configuration, expecially for the gravel-bedded ones. The aim of this study is to evaluate the state of the art and the results of sperimental experiences conduced by D.I.C.A. (University of Perugia) from 80’s to today on the Virginio Stream (Montespertoli, FI).
