Abstract
The study returns on the name of santa Sużżèle, appeared in “Lu cuccugnau”, an almanac in Foligno’s dialect, written by Giulio Giuliani in 1921 according to an ancient local tradition and Giuliani’s affection for popular language. The hypothesis of Barbara Fagotti about the origin of the assumptive hagionym is favourably welcome, but nevertheless new considerations are produced on the reasons that may have led the author to the playful disguise in dialect, and both paroxytony and voiced pronunciation of the double « z » are specified.File in questo prodotto:
