To evaluate digestive capacity of thoroughbred foals (about 7 month old), four in vivo ad libitum digestibility trials were carried out. Natural meadow hay, alone (F diet) or together with oat grain (FA diet), whole flaked soybean (FS diet), oat grain-whole flaked soybean (FAS diet), were examined. The results, compaired with INRA equations, showed substantial differences with adult horses. Regression analysis allowed the following equation to be fit: OMd= 89,22-1,205CF%DM; OMd= 97,17-1,19ADF%DM; GEd= 1,413+0,952OMd%.
