In this paper, the flexural behavior of glass coupled with one-directional sheets of GFRP is analysed with a view to creating structural elements resistant also to tensile stress. To estimate the increase in resistance consequent to application of the fibre, experiments were carried out on samples of float, tempered and laminated glass, with and without GFRP. Two sets of three-point and four-point bending tests were carried out. The tests made it possible to evaluate the benefit obtained by applying the reinforcement both in the elastic phase and in the post-critical phase, reducing problems connected with sudden failure. At the same time, the behavior of the elements with float and tempered glass was analysed by means of a finite-element calculation module gauged on the basis of the results of the experimental tests.
