The results of an experimental and theoretical research on the structural use of concretes manufactured with recycled aggregates are introduced. Particularly the statistical properties of the compression resistance of these concretes have been studied using a meaningful number of concrete cubes made with different percentages of recycled aggregates. On the basis of these experimental results a methodology for the calibration of the partial safety coefficient to be used with these concretes has been developed, taking as reference the results of a Level 2 reliability analysis. The results obtained by means of a parametric experimentation allowed to underline that the use of the recycled aggregates concretes in structural elements can be made with the complete substitution of the natural coarse aggregates but requires for particular design procedure to obtain the same reliability of conventional concretes.
