A nonlinear elastodynamic system is investigated which is descriptive of transverse wave propagation in an isotropic, incompressible, hyperelastic material subject to body forces associated with a nonlinear substrate potential. Notably, by introducing an appropriate ansatz, both cnoidal and gausson-type exact solutions are isolated.
