Abstract

Thermodynamic efficiency of energy conversion systems, along with their safety and low environmental impact even more depend on the quality of the control and diagnosis subsystems. The high cost of sophisticated diagnosis subsystems can be, at the present time, too high for medium and small size applications. In this work, a low cost technology is proposed, based on the substitution of backup hardware measurement gauges by means of correspondent evaluation modules. Some modules, relating to operation parameters of a cogeneration plant steam generator, were set up and verified by comparisons with experimental results.
