The paper describes the results of an applied research, funded by Regione Toscana with the Call Research & Devel-opment 2012 and completed in September 2015, whose objective was the improvement of the environmental mechanical and thermal performances of vibrated concrete products for construction examining options of using in production processes materials currently classified as wastes. In particular, from waste were produced light aggregates to be used for concrete products, evaluating their thermal and mechanical performance and comparing their performances with traditional artefacts already in production and with the same geometry, in order to assess the potential of use, the industrial and market advantages and limits as well as the different effects in environmental and energy terms.
