On Ptolemaic Cartography: The Revival of Scientific Interest, Updates, Open Questions. - Ptolemaic cartography is one of the topics that has been increasingly analyzed by scholars of various disciplinary backgrounds. Despite the presence of a rich bibliography, there has been for some years now, in Italy and abroad, a growing interest in Ptolemaic production, aimed at investigating its philological, historical, geographic and technical-scientific aspects. Starting from this, this paper traces and updates the main thematic lines of research about Ptolemy’s cartography and analyzes the main issues still subject to scientific debate.
