RESUMEN El artículo aborda análisis y reflexiones sobre el modelo de educación que se viene dando en las universidades de forma global y en las que, equivocadamente, priorizan las habilidades tecnológicas en detrimento del pensamiento crítico considerando que el uso tecnológico determina la educación digital dejando de lado el rol docente en la formación de profesionales. Se distingue el modelo tradicional de la enseñanza con el modelo virtual (o digital) y se proponen el desarrollo de nuevas pedagogías y meto- dologías innovadoras en los ambientes o espacios virtuales. La metodología utilizada es descriptiva y exploratoria, basada en referencias bibliográficas de autores que han investigado y analizado el desarrollo y evolución del pensamiento crítico y los nuevos entornos de aprendizaje. Se extrae como conclusión que es posible repensar la edu- cación desde una perspectiva más humanística y al mismo tiempo más científica y tecnológica. ABSTRACT The article addresses analysis and reflections on the education model that has been taking place in universities globally and in which, mistakenly, they prioritize technolo- gical skills to the detriment of critical thinking, considering that the use of technology determines digital education leaving aside the teaching role in the training of professio- nals. The traditional teaching model is distinguished from the virtual (or digital) model and the development of new pedagogies and innovative methodologies in virtual envi- ronments or spaces is proposed. The methodology used is descriptive and exploratory, based on bibliographic references from authors who have investigated and analyzed the development and evolution of critical thinking and the new learning environments. The conclusion is drawn that it is possible to rethink education from a more humanistic perspective and at the same time, more scientific and technological.
