Bolsena Lake has an average surface of about 114 km² and a maximum depth of about 151 m. During the last one hundred years, there has been a negative rainfall trend and a slight increase in temperature in the area. In this work a model is presented which provides a monthly simulation of the lake levels: once calibrated, the model was used to simulate the effects of different climatic situations on the lake levels. The results show that, should the climatic trends continue, a decrease in the average level of up to three meters can be expected in the next few decades.

Abstract
Bolsena Lake has an average surface of about 114 km² and a maximum depth of about 151 m. During the last one hundred years, there has been a negative rainfall trend and a slight increase in temperature in the area. In this work a model is presented which provides a monthly simulation of the lake levels: once calibrated, the model was used to simulate the effects of different climatic situations on the lake levels. The results show that, should the climatic trends continue, a decrease in the average level of up to three meters can be expected in the next few decades.File in questo prodotto:
