Our general goal was to realize a discriminating dosemeter for neutron and gamma radiations inside the thermal column of a TRIGA MARK II nuclear reactor for use in BNCT. A multicomponent dosemeter was developed which consisted of an isotropic teflon holder with TLD-600, TLD-700 and BeO TL detectors (for neutron-gamma mixed field measurements during BNCT therapy irradiation). Through this dosemeter it was observed that TLD-700 is sensitive to thermal neutrons. Consequently, the 6LiF-7LiF couple does not appear to be a suitable, discriminating dosemeter in radiotherapy. For this reason beryllium oxide was substituted for TLD-700.
