The results of an experimental and theoretical research on the structural use of concrete manufactured with recycled aggregates are introduced. Particularly the statistic properties of the compression resistance of these concretes have been studied using a meaningful number of concrete cubes made with different percentages of recycled aggre- gates. On the basis of the experimental results a methodology for the calibration of the partial safety coefficient to be used with these concretes has been developed, taking as reference the results of a Level 2 reliability analysis. The first results obtained by means of a parametric experimentation allowed to underline that the use of a recycled concrete in structural elements requires for particular design procedures and cannot be limited only to quantitative prescriptions on the acceptable maximum percentage of recycled aggregate.
