Structural aspects and reproductive behaviours of some families in Gubbio in the Eighteenth Century. A nominative family reconstitution The aim of this paper is to analyse the life cycle of some family nucleus in Gubbio in the eighteenth century. The sources used are the parish registers of marriage, baptism and burial, as well as the Status Animarum. Through the nominative family reconstitution it has been possible to identify the characteristics of access to marriage, reproductive behaviour, duration of marriage and the modalities of dissolution. It turns out that the investigated sample of families is characterized by the slight prevalence of the enlarged endogamy, by the delayed marriage for males – 28.5 for men and 23.2 for women - by the high duration of the married life (on average is about 26 years), which shows the great stability of the reconstituted families, generally characterized by a low mortality. In addiction, the analysis shows some characteristics of reproductive behaviour that are typical for populations in regime of natural fertility: two thirds of the births are happened in the first ten years of marriage; the mean age of mothers is lower than 32 years, and the age at the birth of the last child is around of 38. The number of sons born from the women married at a younger age is more than nine for those married at age 15-19 years and over eight for those aged 20-24. Finally, the total legitimate fertility rates confirm the results: TLFR20 index is equal to 9 and TLFR25 is equal to 6.7.

Abstract
Finally, the total legitimate fertility rates confirm the results: TLFR20 index is equal to 9 and TLFR25 is equal to 6.7.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
