Rigenerazione partecipata / Participatory Regeneration

The regeneration project of Sant’Angelo Vico l’Abate, an ancient rural settlement in the Chianti region, represents an experimental pilot study included in the Strategic Plan of the Metropolitan City of Florence. The project was initially promoted by the local community, which expressed the need of reacquiring the space, memory and values of the site. “Regeneration” is seen as a reconstruction of spaces and common activities, in line with the contemporary ways of living. The design process includes the territorial, architectural and set-up scales.
